Who is this course for?
This course is recommended for anyone who wants to have a better understanding of how to respond and manage challenging behaviours displayed by children or young people with special educational needs and disabilities. This includes, but is not limited to, healthcare workers, teachers, teaching assistants, early years’ professionals, support workers, child-minders, sports clubs, youth and community workers, etc.

Aims of the course
By the end of this course, delegates will:
- Be able to identify intervention methods that can be used to help manage some of the challenging behaviours displayed by SEND children
- Understand potential causes of challenging behaviours displayed by SEND children
- Learn how to encourage SEND children to display challenging behaviours through appropriate means (e.g. Allowing a child’s fixation with hitting to an engaging activity for the child)
